Christmas Presents

What did all you avid writers and readers get for Christmas this year?

An iPad?
A new Kindle Fire?
The book you have been longing to own?

Well, I didn't get any of that stuff! I got something I never wanted. I got a carpet wetting, poop dropping, little ball of fur named Max. And the best part about it is that even though he is not my present, I will be the one taking care of him. Like I need any more children!
But isn't he cute? He's a toy Morkie: Maltese/Yorkie Mix. He will only be 5 pounds. My heart is softening. As I see the way he plays fetch with my little boy, and cuddles up to my little girl, I fall in love.

What did you get?

  2. BAYBAY! Oh he's so cute. And don't worry, any accidents he has are going to be teensy.

  3. Aw, he is SO cute!! I'm not a dog person, but that Morkie is adorable and almost as good as a cat. ;o) My hubby likes bigger dogs though (no WAY, I say!! I'd rather stay pet-less). At least the poo you're scooping is smaller, with a smaller dog. LOL

  6. Shut up! You got a dog. That's crazy. We got a dog that poops and pees in my house. You'll see that next time you come up. I got your card and you suck because you're so friggin beautiful I'm filled with extreme jealousy. Now I'm creeping everyone out so I'm out of here. I lub u.

  7. I love dogs...Hes cute but Im so glad that you got him and not me! lol We had 4 dogs in Samoa and of course it was ME who was looking after them. Now that we have moved to NZ the Fab5 keep pestering me for another pet and I refuse. No way. Been there, done that. Five children make enough mess thank you very much.

  8. Too cute! In my household, real dogs and cats are not allowed (due to allergies) so my daughter asked Santa for a toy puppy instead--one that barks and moves. Not nearly as cute as yours, but good enough for us. ;)

As for presents, I got a brand-new laptop, which is a writer's must-have, so I was feeling very writerly indeed after getting it. ;)

  9. LOL. Everyone in my family got dogs except me. (I'm very happy because I don't want poop and pee either) Yours is cute though. My present was an iPhone. Now I don't come home and push people off the computer to check my e-mail. ;0)

  12. Awe, very cute! Dogs were sent here to share their wonderful love, and they are very good at it; you can't help but love them right back.
Still, I hope you get it potty trained soon, cuz that sort of makes the loving-it-back thing a bit difficult. ;)

  15. I love your doggie! He looks like a little Ewok.

I got a lot of hugs and kisses this year for Christmas from the kiddos, so all is good.

    Happy New Year!

  16. Aw, he's so cute! I've never heard of a Morkie. 5 pounds sounds perfect. I think my big male Malamute's ear weighs more than 5 pounds! One pile of his poop certainly does. Congrats on your precious ball of fur! And have a happy New Year, Jessie!

  18. Your Morkie is SOOO cute. My kids (translate -me) recently aquired one of those carpet wetting, pooping little balls of fur. I cannot manage to potty train her.

    Happy New Year

  19. Very cute. We have thought about getting a dog, but four kids is enough to deal with. My wife had one before any of them existed. You'll have to go through potty training again!

Didn't get a Kindle Fire, but just a Kindle. Very chuffed, though! Thanks Mum!

Happy New Year to you :)
