HOLY SH....ATTER ME

I'm obsessed with this book. I love this book.
I am in lust with the writing. I am blown away by the most unique voice ever.
I am depressed it's over. I can't wait for Shatter Me #2 in 2012.

If you haven't read SHATTER ME, you might be confused right now. If you have, you might be annoyed I didn't pull off that strike-through nearly as well as the author Miss Mafi.

I am not going to review this book. I am not going to bullet point this one out. I am not going to dive into the deep waters of over-analyzation with this one.

I am going to say that this is my #1 pick of 2011.
I am going to say that this book held me captivated for the two days it took me to read it.
I am going to say that it changed me as a writer. I have never read anything so free. So rich. So beautiful. So deep.

Have you read it? What's your #1 pick of 2011?

  3. @Cristina-I am not going to say this book is totally perfect. There actually were some things that disappointed me (I wont say what for spoiler reasons)...but let's just say the good far outweighed the bad. You should read it. Amen. Hallelujah.

  5. Oh my gosh. I LOVED THIS BOOK!!!! Easily one of the best books I've ever read. There were a few plot things I thought could have been stronger (we should talk), but I have to say that she is THE MASTER of character development! I was very seriously blown away. And besides, the fact that she wrote characters that were completely believable, she made ones that were completely likeable! Even the bad guy was fascinating in such a way that you kind of liked him just because you couldn't get enough of him! She went so outside the box. It was so unique and beautiful and touching well paced and well written and I wanted to drink all the words. I predict it to be the book everyone starts copying. Before you know it, there'll be books with strikeout all through them!

  8. Huh. I'm very intrigued.

I picked up Hunger Games this year, so I would say it was my #1. I did read a lot of self-published works in 2011, and I have to give maybe a handful of those props and put them in my top 10.
