Torment by Lauren Kate

Torment is the second book in the Fallen series, the first book of which was fabulous. One of the best books I've read in awhile.

So, I loved this book. And this is what I learned:

I learned (again) that great cover art goes a long way. It not only made me want to read the book, but it enriched the whole story all the way through. It is so beautiful. I should learn how to attach it here. I just tried for 20 minutes and couldn't figure it out! I suck. Anyway, google it. Its awesome. And it will make you want to read it too.

I learned that conflict needs to be constant. There can never be a let down where everything is going to be alright. Lauren Kate does this well. The book takes place over the course of 18 days essentially. 18 because its a holy number, a significant number. I wont tell you why, and I bet your going to want to the read the first chapter to find out.

I learned that it's okay to be really really creative. Sometimes we like it when books cross boundaries of reality and sometimes we don't. It's done in a way here that makes you say, "oh, cool," instead of, "what the crap?"

I learned that hot guys do it for me. What? Surprised? Probably not. But yes, there are so many hot guys in this book, I would forget who I was supposed to like most. I do like variety though. And some of them are angels, some are demons, and some are Nephilim. What are Nephilim you ask? Go read the book. You'll find it intriguing.

Sometimes second books dont live up to the first. But this one is actually better I would venture to say. Well done Lauren Kate.
