Excuses Excuses

We all have 'em. We all use 'em. They range from wildly absurd to totally legitimate. I have to admit mine is most definitely on the wildly absurd side:

I should be writing more, revising more, editing more, reading more, blogging more, etc. But I'd rather be watching VD!

What's your current excuse?

  1. How can Damon and Stefan be a wildly absurd excuse? Totally legit, Jessie.

  2. I have a number of excuses, but I can't decide which one is funniest. I'll be lame and go with "sleep deprived." Kids have this weird aversion to sleeping when it's light outside, for some reason. :)

  3. We were just given Guitar Hero. So that's my excuse. I was being booed off stage by an imaginary audience instead of editing. ;0)

  4. I don't have one - I just haven't been getting stuff done.

  5. I just moved, so my excuse is that I can't concentrate on my fantasy world with all these boxes screaming to be unpacked.

  6. For a while, I was hoovering that cat, and then I was seing how many M&M's i could fit up my nose.
Now that I've got that out of the way, I've started writing again :o)
Can't you write forst thing, and then take a break and watch VD?

  7. I have a ton of excuses, too. mostly my son graduating high school and getting ready for college in August, plus editing and all the crazy stuff to do to get ready for a launch. I really just want to be writing, and now is a good time since summer TV pretty much sucks. But I do love the VD!

  8. I'm not even going to watch this because everyone is addicted to it! And if I start I'll really never get anything done! lol.

  9. Definitely reading too many blogs and scheduling too much on my own blog.

  10. Ahem, Jessie. It's TVD. Heavy on the T. Otherwise.... well, you know. ;)

As far as an answer, um, idk. I kind of feel like I'm ALWAYS working my butt off lately. It's making me not be able to spend time with fabulous writer friends who live six hours away and come for a visit. :'o(

Someday, though! I plan to not be so busy on June 16. And then, TVD, here I come! (And hopefully a little writing at the pool with said writer friend not too long after that.)

  12. I am full of excuses. And I haven't written a word in so many weeks. I try to make up for it by reading instead. It's still kinda like writing, right? Research and all that? :)

  13. I call my excuses "reasons" so I don't feel quite so bad about them. ;-) Yet, somehow, I still manage to get stuff done - just a lot later than I'd like.

  14. I spend to much time reading blogs! That is my addiction, my excuse and my reason.

  15. I've been reading. That's what I do all summer. Read, read, read. Gosh I love it.

  16. I'm either sucked into writing, blogging, or reading and can't seem to figure out how to do them all equally :) I'm still trying to convince my husband to watch VD...

  17. Sounds like the perfect excuse to me. I LOVE VD! And it needs to start back like now!

  18. Damon is a valid excuse!!
Today I blame poor, innocent Monday for the subpar 20 pages of revision I just "phoned in."
    :)

  19. Ugh, I am rewatching season 1 right now. Again. For the like 3rd time. So embarrassing!
