What Color of Blogger Are You?

Years ago I read this book called THE COLOR CODE by Taylor Hartman Ph.D.

It's a non-fiction classic. And I am not much of a non-fiction kind of girl. I love talking about this book. Many of you have probably read about it, or at least heard about it. I'll try to bullet point out the gist of this book:
  • If you are a RED personality: you primarily value POWER
  • If you are a WHITE personality: you primarily value PEACE
  • If you are BLUE personality: you primarily value RELATIONSHIPS
  • If you are YELLOW personality: you primarily value FUN
Guess which one I am? I am a total YELLOW!

The fact that I value fun above all else is an attribute that spills over into every aspect of my life. What kind of wife, mother, friend, lawyer, writer, and blogger that I am. But specifically in terms of blogging, I think my yellow personality displays itself in the following ways:
  • I have this little irresponsible streak where I sometimes fail to post every day of my Monday, Wednesday, Friday schedule. (An organized RED personality is less likely to miss schedule)
  • I write impulsive, snarky, irreverent  things which might offend from time to time. (A sweet WHITE personality would think twice about saying provocative things that could cause conflict).
  • I don't often participate in blog hops, memes or awards like a good blogger should. (A loyal BLUE loves the interaction provided by these kinds of sharing devices).
  • I post pictures of men with shirts off on a regular basis, because it entertains me. ( A true YELLOW).
So what color of blogger are you? (If you comment, I might just reply with my perspective is on what color you are...just for FUN :).

Happy Friday!!!

  1. There's a challenge. I view myself as a YELLOW.
I did try being serious once. It was a Thursday.

    1. Oh yeah, definitely YELLOW Super Iaino! I can always expect a certain snark out of you! :)

  2. I'm not really sure which color I am. I am a pretty good mix of Red, White, & Blue (I am patriotic), with a little yellow thrown in. I am RED in that I love to be in power but I don't like people to know that I am in power (I guess I could be a good super hero). I am WHITE because conflict makes me sick (and it makes me swear a lot because I lose my ability to think). I think I am BLUE most of all. I love my relationships with people. They complete me. :) (Oh, and I generally don't use so many parentheses but I wanted to see how it played out.)

    1. Wow, all 4? Okay, I'm going to agree with you on the blue because you are too conflicted about this to be white, your not decisive enough to be red, and yellows totally know they are yellow. You is blue girl! Well, primarily anyway :)

  3. I've done a test like this before, except it was divided into gold, orange, green, and blue. I was blue-orange.

    1. Hmmm, I'm going to guess that orange is like yellow because you seem very artistic.

  4. If I have to pick one, I think I'm a blue blogger. What's your take? I'd really like to know. (I wish I was more of a yellow) ;0)

    1. Yes, I would say blue for sure. Hello?! You have actually reached out and embraced your relationships in the blogosphere by creating FFF!

Wait. Was I supposed to answer something?

  6. Oh!
    BTW -
    I totally love your header.

And me? I'm all about POWER - the more servants I have, the better ;-O

    Kidding.

    1. Of course you're a RED! You don't just write dozens of books without plans for world domination! :)

  7. When I took the color test years ago, I was almost entirely blue with a little red and a little yellow. My husband is mostly yellow, which makes for a fun combination - most of the time! :)

  8. What? I totally pegged you for a white! And now you say you are a little of the others? I guess I was way off. You just seem really sweet and peaceful and kind! I guess you can be that way with any color (except red)...just kidding.

  9. Um... I'd say I'm GREEN.

Haha! Um.... huh. I have no idea. Light blue? ;) Fading into a little yellow near one end, and a little red near the other end?

Seriously, though-- I have no idea. Peg me. (Haha! Get it?)

    1. Oh I'll peg you! Don't you worry about that. (That sounds like bedroom talk ;) Peggy, you are definitely light blue! You have no enemies, everyone loves you. And you are one of the most loyal friends I know. And the way you are so devoted to your family is inspiring. But the fact that you don't just come down with Erin to Sin City to visit makes you so not yellow! So there. Consider yourself pegged!

    2. Ahem. Says the girl who wouldn't even do cartwheels in the hotels hallways with me. ;)

And I'm not taking credit for the lack of Sin City visits! I'm totally blaming that on the non-yellowish (yet still completely awesome) members of my fam. You + Erin + Sin City + Freezer Full of Ice Cream = Me Bliss.

    3. (But I am still a little green over your fabulous blog post idea.)

  10. I've taken this test before and was exactly half blue/half white. And a little yellow thrown in. Hardly any red. Probably none actually. Ha ha. Interesting! :D

    1. I agree with the blue white Chantele. You are generous, giving and sweet to everyone!

  11. Everyone totally pegs me for a white because I'm quiet. But there's definitely some yellow thoughts going on in my head. Sometimes they slip out and people are surprised. :)

    1. I can see some of that yellow in there! Like when I slapped you on the A a few times at Storymakers...you didn't even yell at me once! :)

  12. Hmmm... this is tough. I'd like to think I'm kinda fun. But maybe I'm not as fun as I think.

I'd like to think I'm blue, have built some great writerly relationships through bloghops, awards, etc. But maybe those people just put up with me and pretend they're my friend.

I don't think I'm much white or red.

So, I'm like Peggy. Green? haha

    1. Oh come on Kelly, nobody is pretending to be your friend. Remember that time when you offered to read and critique anyone's queries? That was pretty awesome. I think that gained you some serious loyalty points with more people than me. Definitely a lot of blue in you for sure. But that profile pic makes me think you know how to have a good time..am I wrong?

  13. I remember taking the color test once and I think I was blue followed by red and white in there. And probably not much yellow as I recall. Of course, that was over a decade ago and I have since become a much more exciting, fun person! At least I think so. Ask my kids, probably not so much, lol.

One of these days I'll have to take it again.

And I can definitely see you as a yellow! You are the blond, Las Vegas, lawyerly version of Erin! So you are now my sister by color association. ;)

    1. Leslie you seem pretty white to me. You are all smiles, sunshine, and sweetness. Even when the hotel delivered your breakfast an hour late, you smiled through your ravenous hunger! And then erin the shark took care if the dirty work. :)

  14. I'm a red. Yeah, I know. Huge shocker. I love me some power! But the leadership aspect of being "red" can really suck. I need to get better at delegating. CONTROL FREAK! :)

    1. I can see the red for sure, because you're wonder woman and multitask like a champ. I think your going to be hugely successful in publishing because of it.

  15. Hmm, tough. I think I'm a blue. (Am I?) I'm not consistent enough to be red. I don't think peace is my motivation for blogging. And I'm not sure that I'm fun enough. While I don't always participate in blog hops, I do value my relationships with my blogger friends (if I see they have a new post up, I try my best to go and comment, for instance). :)

    1. Yes, you strike me as blue. You are excellent at developing relationships and loyalties. I sure feel like your friend, and I am so excited to see where HIDDEN goes!

  16. I'm red and blue. I love being organized and I thrive on discipline. And I love good friendships. One of my characteristics as a person is that if someone is my friend, I'm loyal to them to the end; however, if they screw me over - I am really slow to forgive and redeem.

    1. Good to know on the screwing you over part ;). I had no idea you were a red. You actually seemed pretty white to me. Huh. Go figure.

  17. A combination of blue and yellow, and maybe a shade of white. Are we allowed to 'take' shades, the in-betweens?

    1. Of course! If there are Fifty Shades of Gray, then why not some shades of blue and yellow ;0

i did a color personality match a while back, i'll have to compare notes =)

and you are sooo fun =)

    1. Yes, there is most def purple...but which one is your primary color? If I had to guess, I'd say blue because you are awesome at building relationships online.

    1. Yep, you'd be a blue too I think. You rock that group blog thing. And sure, come back more often...I'm always shamelessly putting pretty men on my blog :).

  20. Oddly enough, I think I might actually be a white. Not what I would have expected!

  21. White sounds right to me. Though you got to have a little blue to have such great CP's like Carrie! :)

    ReplyDelete
  22. Oh, I'm so glad Emily interviewed you today. Because I found you. And you are CPs with Peggy (I'm a fellow Lucky 13 w/ Peggy). And this whole blog is all kinds of yay!

  23. I've taken tests that supposedly will tell you which one of four personality types you are. I've gotten different answers, depending on which phase of life I was in.

  24. Fun way of looking at it! I think I'm a blue blogger. I blog primarily for the relationships. I love when people visit my blog and comment on it, and I love to reciprocate by visiting theirs. It's fun to read about others' experiences and learn about life from their viewpoints. That said, I am horrible about doing memes or blogging awards, so maybe I'm not a blue after all? I just like to write whatever I find most interesting, and memes usually aren't it for me.

  25. I had a color in mind but then I got distracted by David Beckham. Darn it! Oh wait...I think I'm a blue :) Fun post!
